The gizmo shape is a control in many editors to move, rotate and scale objects.
Depending on the mode, the gizmo shows different items for control. Here you see the movement gizmo, rotation gizmo and the scale gizmo.
The movement gizmo allows to move an object.
The movement gizmo has three arrows for the x-axis, y-axis and z-axis. Click and press an axis and move the mouse to move the object on the given axis.
Also the movement gizmo has three plates. Click and press a plate to move the object on the given combined axis. For example, the red plate moves the object on the green axis (move mouse on x-axis) and blue axis (move mouse on y-axis).
There are also are north-east arrows drawn if enabled.
The rotation gizmo allows to rotate an object.
Press the gray ball to change the yaw rotation of the object by moving the mouse on the x-axis.
Press the green surface to change the pitch rotation of the object by moving the mouse on the y-axis.
Press the red surface to change the roll rotation of the object by moving the mouse on the y-axis.
There are also north-east arrows drawn if enabled.
The scale gizmo allows to scale an object.
Press the gray ball to change the scale of the object on all axes by moving the mouse on the y-axis. Or press one of the yellow cubes to change the scale for a single axis.
